January 16

The photograph of the day sang to me these lines from a hymn, "snow had fallen snow on snow, snow on snow." I must have been appreciating how each flake balances on the next yet with no regard for symmetry or form. I might title this image, "re-use," to recognize how these spent flower pods have become vessels for a new kind of blossom.

It was a boondoggle day,
here are a few other photographs in the snow:
This tree looks so regal dressed in white.
This lilac bush looks so much more wild
with snow-capped branches
I love to hear the cold squeak
of snow under tires
